EDGEUP TERMS OF USE

Welcome to EdgeUp.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the EdgeUp mobile application, website, and related services (collectively referred to as the “Platform”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

1. About EdgeUp
EdgeUp is a digital support platform designed to help students navigate university life and the transition into early career life through tools focused on organisation, focus, wellbeing, reflection, and personal development.
The Platform provides access to:
• planning and productivity tools
• journaling and reflection tools
• wellbeing and mindset check-ins
• educational content and exercises
• tools inspired by the EdgeUp™ book and workbook series including FreshersEdge™, FocusEdge™, CareerEdge™, and NextEdge™.
EdgeUp is intended to support personal growth and learning but does not replace professional services.

2. Educational Disclaimer
The content available within the EdgeUp platform is provided for informational and educational purposes only.
The tools, exercises, frameworks, and reflections are designed to support personal development, academic organisation, and self-awareness.
EdgeUp does not guarantee:
• academic outcomes
• career outcomes
• personal development results
Users are responsible for how they apply the information and tools provided within the Platform.

3. Mental Health and Wellbeing Disclaimer
EdgeUp includes reflection tools, wellbeing check-ins, and mindset exercises intended to support student wellbeing.
However, EdgeUp is not a medical, psychological, or counselling service.
The Platform does not provide:
• medical advice
• mental health diagnosis
• therapy or counselling
• emergency support services
If you are experiencing severe distress, mental health challenges, or emotional crisis, you should seek support from a qualified professional or contact your university wellbeing services or local emergency services.

4. Eligibility
To use the EdgeUp platform you must:
• be at least 16 years old
• have the legal capacity to accept these Terms
• comply with applicable laws in your jurisdiction
Users under the age of 18 should use the platform with parental or guardian awareness where required by local law.

5. User Accounts
Some features of the Platform may require users to create an account.
Users agree to:
• provide accurate information
• maintain the confidentiality of login credentials
• notify EdgeUp if unauthorized access to their account occurs
Users are responsible for activity conducted under their account.

6. Acceptable Use
Users agree not to:
• misuse the Platform for unlawful purposes
• attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Platform
• upload harmful or malicious content
• misuse community or platform features
• infringe the intellectual property rights of EdgeUp or others
EdgeUp reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property
All content within the EdgeUp platform is protected by intellectual property laws.
This includes:
• the EdgeUp™ Method
• FreshersEdge™, FocusEdge™, CareerEdge™, and NextEdge™ frameworks
• educational tools and exercises
• platform design, branding, and content
Users may access and use this content for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without written permission from EdgeUp.

8. User Generated Content
Users may create personal content within the Platform such as:
• journal entries
• reflections
• notes
• personal responses to exercises
Users retain ownership of their personal content.
By using the Platform, users grant EdgeUp permission to store and process this information solely for the purpose of providing the service.
EdgeUp does not claim ownership over user-generated content.

9. Platform Availability
EdgeUp aims to provide reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Service interruptions may occur due to:
• maintenance
• software updates
• technical issues
• circumstances outside of our control
EdgeUp may update or modify features at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EdgeUp shall not be liable for:
• indirect or consequential damages
• academic outcomes or performance
• personal decisions made based on platform content
• loss of personal data entered by users
• service interruptions
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

11. Content Liability Protection
The tools and guidance within EdgeUp are designed to support reflection, organisation, and personal growth.
EdgeUp does not assume responsibility for decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from the use of the Platform.
Users remain fully responsible for their academic, personal, and professional decisions.

12. Updates to the Platform
EdgeUp may modify, update, or discontinue features of the Platform at any time to improve user experience.
Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of those changes.

13. Changes to These Terms
EdgeUp may update these Terms periodically.
When updates occur, the revised Terms will be posted within the Platform with an updated revision date.

14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom unless otherwise required by consumer protection laws in the user's jurisdiction.
